Original Description:
Antique Mathieson Dovetailed Steel Infill Panel Plane.Plane is 13 1/2" long, with a 2 1/2"  Marples thick parallel iron and Mathieson cap iron.Rosewood infill with makers stamp, Mathieson, Glasgow, on front bun as shown.There are previous owners name stamps on the plane.
"Steel" stamp on toe indicates dovetailed steel construction (not a casting).Please study the photos carefully, as they form part of the description.Some staining/ pitting on steel as shown, but does not affect... use.
(Some say that these planes were actually made by Norris)
This is a used item.
