Vintage Antique French Aviator Pilot Flying Ace Goggles.From between WWI-WWII. Possibly from the 1930s.Rare French goggles with yellow plastic lenses, rimmed in metal.Lenses are really very clear with a few light scratches & no brakes.Red/orange fleece lined. Fleece still in very good condition.There are springs covered in knit fabric between the lenses and fleece.No holes in the knit. Glue discoloration on the knit, see photos.Leather pieces hold the (once possibly) elastic straps... with metal grommets.Leather is still soft with no cracks. Elastic is not stretchy. Wear & oxidation to the metal edges of the frames, see photo.On each grommet front is "E <picture of insect> J", see photo.On the grommet back is "lower case lambda sigma" & "MADE in FRANCE".Discoloration, staining & wear due to use and storage.Overall in pretty solid condition & does not seem fragile in any area.If you have questions, I can try to answer or send additional photos.Have been in our family from at least 1970.
