If you’re looking to impress your friends, this is the beast that will do it. You will be the most popular kid in school, or employee at work, when you show up with the Compaq LTE 5400. Specimens of this caliber rarely come up for auction, so bid large!
Compaq made a whole series of these laptops starting with the LTE 5150. The 5400 was the best/top-of-the-line. It has a 2gb hard drive and an mind-blowing 32mb of ram. I believe it might be able to be upgraded to 64mb, but you�...��ll need to double check that.
I’m charging $38 for shipping. If it’s less than that after shipping/packaging, I’ll shoot you a refund. I think that’ll be pretty close though.
Disclaimers: *I am not the original owner - I won this at a local auction. I had plans for it but am deciding to sell instead. Don’t assume anything about this laptop. I don’t know what exactly it’s supposed to include, so ask questions if you have them.*The power cord for the base station probably isn’t original. I don’t have a separate power cord for the actual laptop but it appears to be standard. I have not been able to run the laptop off its battery - that could be because it needs to be plugged in directly to charge the battery or because the battery is dead. I just don’t know.*Like any old laptop, there are minor imperfections and discoloration. Overall, I think it looks great for its age, especially on the inside. But ask for more pictures if you have concerns and I’ll get them to you!*I cleaned up the operating system by deleting the original owner’s personal files (which were very few) and uninstalling some nonsense programs like NetZero. But I haven’t done anything else. I haven’t connected it to the internet. I certainly haven’t ensured it has updated drivers!*If you need more info, just ask! I’ll try to get you whatever information I can about it.
