This listing is for a beautiful vintage pieced and appliqued Tulip Basket quilt. It features twelve blue and white pieced baskets filled with pastel appliqued flowers. The applique was accomplished using needle-turn and matching thread. There are embroidered accents giving the appliques detail and dimension. The tulip baskets are surrounded by blue and white pieced squares. The needle-work on this quilt is amazing. The applique, embroidery and quilti...ng were all done with very small, even stitches. It is heavily hand quilted. The backing of the quilt is solid white, the batting is thin and the binding is solid white. The quilt measures approximately 75” X 89.5 and is in very good vintage condition. The only minor issue I noted was on the back of the quilt. There are a couple of small, light spots that looked like they may have been caused by something in the batting (Cotton batting?). I photographed it for you, so you be the judge.
