Original Description:
A very rare original 19th century Victorian 1827 Canadian Rifle Officers sword to the Sidney Rifle volunteers, Nova Scotia.
Only one other of these swords are known to exist! The other being in a private collection / museum.
Sword retailed by Hebbert & Co, 8 Pall Mall, East London, which dates the sword to 1850-1864.
Sword would have been used by an Officer in the Sidney Rifles during the Canadian General Service campaign (Fenian Raids etc).
Very... good original untouched condition. Stunning quality etched blade.
Overall length approx. 40 inches. Blade length 33 inches.
A sword for the serious collector of period militaria.
