DIMENSIONS
Height: - 14 cm (5 4/8 inches)
Width: - 11 cm (4 3/8 inches)Weight: - 235g (0.52 lb / 8.3 oz)
CONDITION:
Original Condition - No Repairs, No Restorations, some general light scuffs and a couple of scratches. The only damage is a single old ding to the top rim. Please see my last 3 photographs which show this same flaw from different angles inside and outside the mouth of the vase in very sharp close-up detail. In reality it is hard to even see this flaw without magnification, the chip is only 4mm wide. - I don't think I have ever seen another tea-dust glaze vase of this period with Chinese script on it. I can not read Mandarin and do not know what this script says... Maybe a poem, a date, a place? I simply do not know (but would love to know if someone would like to inform me). - To confirm there are 16 characters written in cobalt blue glaze which is 'heaped and piled' over the tea-dust glaze, which gives a warm almost red glow around each character. - Very unusual. The exterior of the vase is clean, however the interior has a lot of genuine dirt built up over many lifetimes. - This vase is a genuine antique and NOT a modern copy.
