TRULY SUPERB OLD CHINESE CARVED WHITE JADE DRAGON MASK PENDANT IMPERIAL QIANLONG Hello, thank you for having a look at our auctions. This week we are offering a choice selection of top quality Chinese art objects from the important Cowperthwaite family collection. The collection's origins date back to the earlier 20th century when the family resided in the UK. During the mid 20th century the family was instrumental in establishing Hong Kong as an open market leading the way to the crea...tion of one of the most powerful and important market places in the world. Up for auction is a TRULY SUPERB OLD CHINESE CARVED WHITE JADE DRAGON MASK PENDANT IMPERIAL QIANLONG. This pendant is an incredible example that is superbly carved with a great dragon mask and bird figural design to each side. The plaque is carved of a superb specimen of icy-white jade stone. By the exceptional qualities I believe this pendant would date from the 18th to 19th century, likely being carved within the Imperial workshops. One of the finest pendants we have offered or seen in several years. This pendant is one of a few great quality jades being offered in this week’s estate sale
Condition: The pendant could use a light cleaning as seen and is otherwise in fine estate-fresh condition with no damage as seen.
Size: The pendant measures 2 1/4 inches long, by 1 1/2 inches wide and 3/8s of an inch thick. The pendant weighs 49 grams.
