Disston #8 Half Back Saw - Gent’s Saw RAREWellhere is something you don’t see every day, besides being complete and original -- this saw is deep branded in the handle J.J. Hill. I don't know where this saw came from but my Dad lived in Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN. J.J. Hill was the man behind the he Great Northern Railroad. I don't know if this is actually his saw, but you can run this saw in as much well-seasoned hardwood as you want! You can build your own wood work...ing empire out of Walnut or what ever other wood you fancy. The brands are deep, so it must have been a hot and heavy iron that marked the handle. The Disston #8 Half Back Saw or Gent’s Saw is a very rare saw. This one is in very nice condition. If you hold it in the light EXACTLY in theright way you can see the ghost image of the Disston Etching (that is what theclose up picture of the saw blade is trying to show). If you run your fingers on the flat of theblade over of the spots of varying color.... I can NOT feel even a little pitting. Overallthis is a beautiful saw and just glows with a nice patina.Pleaselook at the pictures and decide the condition and age for yourself. Please email questions before bidding andthis ONLY SHIPS TO A USA ADDRESS. I am going to charge a flat fee of 14.99 forshipping. Please check out my other auctions for otherDisston saws and wood working tools. Best wishes and best of luck if you bid. JrightL Ps. Oh yeah, if you feel compelled to emailme and ask me to end the auction with a buy it now offer…it probably ain’tgonna happen. I am putting my Dad's pride and joy up for auction this week... a Disston 77.
