I am proud to offer an extremely rare 16MM of the Joseph Schenck release of Buster Keaton in 1926's THE GENERAL.. This print was developed for a special Harvard Film Studies program with a musical soundtrack performance. It is printed on "amber tinted" Agfa film stock from the 1960's. This soundtrack is excellent and well suited to the film.StorylineJohnnie loves his train ("The General") and Annabelle Lee. When the Civil War begins he is turned down for ser...vice because he's more valuable as an engineer. Annabelle thinks it's because he's a coward. Union spies capture The General with Annabelle on board. Johnnie must rescue both his loves.
