Two crinoids, one with gastropodArthroacantha carpenteriPlatyceras sp.Middle DevonianSilica ShaleLucas county, Ohio
I collected this fine specimen nearly 30 years ago at Sylvania.I just discovered the two crinoids as I was going through somematerial I hadn't looked at in decades. The larger of the crinoidshas a coprophagous snail attached to the anal vent. I was ableto see this one since there are a couple of arms missing on thecrown, making the snail visible. Very... spiny and beautifully replacedwith pyrite. Any time a crinoid was buried, its resident snail wouldbe buried too.
Microscope prep to preserve all details. Slab measures a bit over4 inches wide. $1.00 opening bid. Good luck.
