Vintage 11hp Brigs and stratton horizontal shaft engine. This is a Vintage 30 year old engine never used still in the box. It is the commercial grade cast bore, they don't make them like this anymore. Remember back when a riding lawn mower had a 8hp engine and ran just as fast and cut the lawn? Those lawn mowers were all steel and heavier but did it with less of an engine? Today you need a 25hp engine to do the same, I believe that is the reason that most of these manufactures give you... cc ratings and not hp ratings anymore. The manufactures have been rating rating these engines differently 10 years ago than back in the 80’s and making the consumer believe they were getting more for their money but actually they were not getting anymore. The small engine manufactures got into legal trouble for this and that is when they started just giving the cc rating of the engine not the HP rating.
