THIS AUCTION WILL END **FRIDAY, **JULY 5th!!!Crystalline Turquoise (Fe-rich) with Cuprite1400 level, Dallas Mine, Bisbee, Warren District, Mule Mts, Co...chise Co., Arizona, USA 4.5cm x 3.2cm x 1.9cmEx. Ted Morley Collection THIS AUCTION WILL END **FRIDAY, **JULY 5th!!!
Description/Interesting Notes: A VERY rare and unique example of crystalline turquoise with cuprite and native copper from this seldom referenced Bisbee locale!!! Several years ago I came across a specimen that came out of the collection of Ted Morley that was clearly misidentified as "cuprite with malachite" - I recognized that the greenish colored mineral was absolutely not malachite but I could not figure out what it was!!! We sold the unknown specimen to a collector who did a fantastic job getting it analyzed and - most importantly - contacting THE Bisbee expert, Dick Graeme, who immediately recognized this super rare material and was even able to provide the exact mine location where this very small find was made!!! Few Arizona collectors have even seen this material or even know that it exists!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of uniquely colored, slightly bluish green crystalline turquoise in addition to some associated cuprite!!! The turquoise owes its unique greenish color to the fact that it is iron rich!!! The turquoise exhibits a somewhat sparkly luster and, upon close inspection with a loupe or scope, one can see that it is very well crystallized!!! The cuprite is exhibits modified cubic crystals with dark reddish color and sharp, lustrous faces!!! Very rare material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SUNDAY NIGHT!!! Don't forget!!! THIS AUCTION WILL END ON *FRIDAY*, JULY 5th, due to the upcoming U.S. holiday.
