Offere here is this dated 1795 English darning sampler by a Miss Marry Scrivener. While missing the border common to English as opposed to Dutch darning samplers, a genealogical search pins this one down to being English in origin. She's not glued down to the hard cardboard, but as my last picture shows, merely taped in back. Aside from the fading of some colors consistent with age, there is one spot of damage as shown in my 10th picture. She measures as present...ed 13 1/2" h x 12 1/2" w.
