Original Description:
This is a 1965 Jaguar which was Fender's top of the line model at that time. This guitar is in the standard sunburst finish but has the unique bound neck with dots configuration. Prior, it was dots/unbound, and after it was blocks/bound, but for a period of time during 1965, it was like this.

I bought this guitar from an older gentleman who was selling it because his arthritis made it impossible to play.  He told me that he bought the guitar used in 1975 with lawn-mowing money and played (and loved) it a bunch through the years.  The well-worn, authentic relic'd look makes that obvious. I appreciate that this guitar made it through the 1970s and 1980s without a bunch of mods and "upgrades" which is kind of a minor miracle.  When he went to sell it to me, he actually teared up and changed his mind at the last minute.  I told him that if he wasn't ready to let go, he should keep it, and that it was cool that he didn't want to part with it.  I guess that's what he needed to hear because he changed his mind again and handed it over.

Okay, let's get in to it...

The guitar is, I believe, all original with the addition of a Mastery bridge; the original bridge and bridge cover are in the case (as pictured). The body has a lot of honest wear and tear from years of use. On the front you can see where play wear has gone through the clear coat and through some of the red and brown/black in the sunburst.  This is what the guys doing the relic work are trying to duplicate but when you see this, you realize that you can't really copy the real deal.

The neck is in very good shape with only minor dings and some pretty nice checking on the headstock.  The frets still have life and the truss rod works as it should.  The tuners are tight and hold tune well.

The pickups sound bright and punchy as they should, and all those switches and knobs work properly and quietly.

The Trem felt a little clunky to me so I put it in the locked position and never really got around to messing with it.  It's all there and should be able to be adjusted to your taste, or you could drop in a Mastery trem and enjoy the upgrade.

Lastly, the case is a new Fender case.  It's solid and the guitar fits in it perfectly.  When the guy I bought it from purchased it back in 1975, it didn't come with the case.

In summary, an amazing guitar that gets tons of comments. It plays and sounds great, a truly excellent example.  The wear and age on this one is what I hear about all the time, it just has that special quality that inspires people.  And it does the Cobain / Marr thing really well too.  Look at the photos, feel free to ask questions.
