This decorative art deco dish was produced by S. Fielding for the Crown Devon brand. The dish is a pale yellow colour with a round shallow shape and features the popular Garden Path pattern. The hand painted flowers and pattern are still lovely and bright. A charming piece from the art deco era and a nice addition for a collection...The bowl is A/F (as found) with a fracture. See enlarged pics. A couple of faint dark smudges which are barely noticeable. Otherwise it is in excellent vintage condition. The colours are bright and the hand painted pattern is still beautiful. No chips, crazing or discolouration. Still nice for display... Backstamp:Made in England Crown Devon 3057bhimpressed to base: A6Pattern: Garden PathCirca: 1930'sAdditional Info:Simon Fielding operated his pottery from the Railway Works in the late 1800's at Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England, an area renowned for quality pottery production since the mid 1700's. In 1912 the pottery was renamed the Devon Pottery and the Crown Devon brand was created. Also known as the poor man's Worcestor, the Crown Devon range was diverse and ranged from novelty items, figurines, clocks and boxed coffee sets. The business successfully exported their wares worldwide. The pottery ceased production in the 1980's.
