OBJECT// Antique Tibetan Chinese very fine and beautiful large mercury gilt repousse statue of a standing Buddha or Monk, the detail to the face and robes is stunning, the original black skin pigment is still intact to body and the white of his eyes, the face is very much in pure tibetan artistic tradition, unusual to see a full standing figure, the piece displays well on a black wood Chinese stand, this piece i have had a very long time and purchased from a dear friend and i hope it goes to a very good home, it will be missed, very important spiritual object, very much scholars taste, dating from the 18th century, genuine antique object, superb colour and patina, serious collectors object.
