Mid-Century Modern Kitchen Cabinets - Solid MapleManufactured by Mutschler Nappanee, Indiana, 1959
High style in the 50's and 60's! If you love mid-century modern, these are well worth restoring! (To see how they once looked, see the 1959 advertisement in photo 12.)
These cabinets were incredibly well made and, to this day, remain sturdy with no structural damages. Cosmetically, they've certainly seen their better days! Many of the bottom cabinet fronts need refinishing. The uppe...r cabinet fronts are better. The insides of most of these cabinets, and the wood shelves, are in very good condition. They have their original copper hardware. They have most of thr original storage features including the pull-out metal-rack bottom shelves, solid wood upper shelves, a pull- out metal basket, and an adjustable-height blender shelf.
Unfortunately, not all the cabinets that made up the original kitchen are here. The old formica countertop is gone. There are 6 lower cabinets (including the sink unit) and 4 upper cabinets. There are also miscellaneous parts, such as the enclosure for a refrigerator, the front of the cooktop unit, extra doors, drawer, and copper hardware.
If mid-century modern cabinet restoration isn't your thing, consider using these cabinets as-is for garage, workshop, or basement storage. They're solid as a rock and should last for many years to come.
