Description A beautiful rare English antique Edwardian solid sterling silver and frosted glass match-ball striker by the silversmiths Henry Willia...mson Ltd - (1899-1927), in lovely condition and with a full set of English silver hallmarks Birmingham 1902. Excellent quality original 117 year old silver example, (definitely not a modern re-production); a good size, with a silver mounted rim and has a heavy circular glass body with a frosted/matt finish and has recessed vertical & horizontal lines to assist striking the matches. There are no added personal engraved inscriptions or monograms. Weighs 228 grams.Measurements Measures approx. 2.4 inches (62mm) in diameter and is 2 inches (50mm) in height.Date English antique Edwardian solid sterling silver with a full set of English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1902 (date letter "c"). Still has good readable marks, nice to find as these are usually virtually rubbed away.Maker Silversmiths initials "H.W Ld", (Henry Williamson Ltd - 1899-1927). Condition Lovely condition, with no splits or repairs to the silver mounted rim, definitely no wear holes and no nasty knocks or dents, just has typical tiny little pin-head dent/bruises from normal use, really nothing at all bad. The heavy circular glass body is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and there are no added personal engraved inscriptions or monograms. Nice uncommon design and direct from a private estate.
