Several early issue points including "latter" for "letter" page 160; p. 245 line 10 has "flys" for "flies", and p. 618 lines 23-24 have Grogzwig spelt incorrectly [as Grogswig]; the frontispiece is not listed in the illustratio...ns list, etc. There are also a couple of differences between titles of plates in the illustrations list and those on the plates themselves. Half dark brown leather over red marbled paper, gilt titles on red label, 5 raised bands, white endpapers Condition: The text pages are in very good condition, with very occasional isolated marks, but being mainly clean and bright. The front inner hinge is split along the paper, but the book is tight in its binding. The plates have hardly any foxing, unusually for these editions, although there is some darkening to the edges of paper in some cases. The leather of the binding has some rubbing, especially at the corners. The marbled paper worn away along the edges.
