An Old Vermont Background, 1835-1860. Recollections of the Early Life of Henry Albert Morrill. Edited by his daughter Alice Morrill Ruggles. 40pp., mimeographed, printed on a single side. Appears to be from an 1891 manuscript, this copy probably produced in the 1940s.
Morrill begins by relating what he knows of his family history, then discusses at length growing up and local life in Danville, Vermont; a brief spell doing odd-jobs in St. Louis; and finally reminiscences of stu...dying at Dartmouth. He spent his later life as a law professor at the Univeristy of Cincinnati.
Moderate external wear, pages yellowed with some creases, small tears, minor blemishes, binding reasonably firm. Ownership inscription (Genevieve Morrill Fuller, the author's daughter and editor's sister).
