MASSIVE BATTLE SWORD, ENGLISH MODEL 1796. MOUNTS OF STRONG STEEL WITH LARGE DISK GUARD, GRIP IS LEATHER COVERED. SCABBARD IS OF STEEL AND IS MAKER MARKED. BLADE IS VERY STRONG WITH LARGE FULLER, MARKED ON ONE SIDE AND ENGRAVED ON THE SPINE WITH SOLINGEN MAKER. CONDITION IS GOOD WITH HEAVY PATINA, BLADE AND HILT ARE TIGHT. LIKELY LATE 1700s TO NAPOLEONIC WARS ERA. POWERFUL WEAPON.
