Bound with PARADISE LOST (1794)
Two volumes, bound in full leather, measuring approx. 29.5cm x 24.5cm x 5cm. The boards are cracked to spine edges, one is detached and the others have some movement. The spines are worn/rub...bed and are chipped to top and bottom with loss. The leather is little darkened/grubby and scuffed. Edges are worn and corners are chipped and bumped. Internally there are marbled endpapers to front and rear. Name to front blanks volume I. (Mary Earle). Contents are beginning to strain/crack in a few places, although leaves remain reasonably firm. Occasional scattered foxing, and the occasional pale grubby/dusty patch. A couple of leaves and plates have a pale marginal stain. One leaf (from another work), has been bound in. Else overall the majority of contents remain in reasonably clean condition.
There are 17 (7, 10) full page engraved plates and numerous smaller engravings within text.By RICHTER, GARDINER, etc
