Up for bids is an original IBM Personal System/2 PS2 Model 80 Type 8580 Tower MCA computer. I believe it was made around 1989.It was in use at my company over 25 years ago and has been sitting in my office along with a second one ever since. We have been using them as tables between chairs.I finally decided to check them out and sell them.
It has several cards in it as follows:
IBM FRU 15F6561 (SCSI adapter)3Com Etherlink/MC 4233-0 (Ethernet adapter)Kingston KTM-3077-2
It has ...a 1.44 floppy drive and I think it may have two hard drives. The hard drive I know for sure it has is a Maxtor XT-4380E, 380 MB. It is on the right side in the pictures.I'm not sure, but I think the Maxtor may have been added on and the hard drive that came with the computer is over on the left.I can't get either of them out to really tell for sure, so you be the judge.
I cannot get it to boot. I plugged it in and flicked the switch and nothing happened. I'm guessing it just needs a new power supply. This computer is very heavy and will be shipped via UPS or USPS Parcel Post if cheaper. It is being sold "as-is", so please ask questions. It weighs about 50 pounds and measures about 24" x 19" x 7".I am also selling the other Model 80 that I have. The other one does not have as much as this, but does power on. Sorry, too heavy to ship together!
