This is maybe the pinnacle of a speaker collection the famous AR1. This is serial no 5897Condition: small dent in the screen but I see no holes and the gold threading is exceptionally clean! I hooked it up to a 4 ohm output and it sounds really good, I’m no expert but the sound is crisp with no hint of cracking.
Apart from some small cosmetics the case is really in great shape for what I believe age is somewhere in the 1957 range.

We do not charge a packing fee but I will add multiple layers to protect the whole speaker and in particular the front.
I’m adding that I’ve had several requests to open the grill, from what I read this is only something that should be done by someone well versed in these speakers. It’s a museum piece so if the grill does not pop off I’m not prying it off, I tested it with a 4 ohm amp and I hear no indications that there is damage to either speaker, I hear clear sound from both, overall it sounds very good to me but I’ve never listened to one of these before either and unless someone has a way that i could photograph the speakers themselves without potentially damaging the case then I cannot open it?
The small dent in the grill did not damage the driver, it’s not deep at all and not near the cone.
