Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:7010421 | UPC: Does not apply |
NOTE 8/11/19: Someone asked what I meant by "tested-works, " so I have changed the text below to clarify that the engineer who tested it just made sure that it produced sound. He didn't mention having tested the coils.
NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING: The horn will be double boxed. I am adding a handling charge of $55 to cover the insurance and required signature for this item.
I am selling this item ...for an elderly gentleman who worked as an engineer at Bose for over 30 years. He is moving to a smaller home and must part with this antique.
A friend of the owner, an acoustics engineer, made sure that the speaker produces sound, but he didn't test the coils, to my knowledge. The engineer offered the following additional information about this unit, which collectors probably already know: it is a "permanent magnet" unit. This mid-range speaker is double walled." The speaker is probably an Altec Lansing, but I don't know for sure.
The speaker has the raised characters "D-288-1" on one side, and what looks like "636325" on the other side, although the second set of numbers was hard to read, and I could have gotten one wrong (see photos).
This unit is being sold AS IS.
