Up for auction is a very rare pair of 1940's Northern Western Electric R4044B Preamp driver amplifiers. These preamps were originally paired up with the famous Northern Electric R4045C power amplifiers. (R4045C Power amps are not included).
Northern Electric was the Canadian Branch ...of the Western Electric company and they shared many designs and parts etc..These driver preamps are harder to find than the R4045C power amps as they did not make as many of these.
To find a pair like this is a true rare find!
The preamps were removed from regular use about 10 years ago and have been sitting in storage ever since. They were working when removed but they will most likely need a service etc to be usable. A good tech can set these up with a pair of R4045C amps to give you the true western electric hifi sound you are looking for.
The amps are being sold as is with no returns. Sold as parts/repair and untested.
Due to the fragile nature of antique electronics the preamp are sold as is with no returns for any reason. Sold as is.
