I bought a working HK II in 2014 and had Don Sachs do a complete restoration and upgrade. He installed the Jim Mcshane power supply kit along with the level II and II plus modifications. See http://www.mcshanedesign.net/citpage.htm#parts.htm for all the details. Dons also did his full restoration which includes replacing every resistor and capacitor, replacing every tube socket, jack and wiring, new binding posts, triode/ultralinear switch, install a pair of jacks for biasing, a CCS up...grade, power cord, separate filament transformer, regulated DC filament for 2 input tubes. See http://www.dsachsconsulting.com/citation%20ii.html for more details. The binding posts are connected to the 4 ohm tap. The cost was around $2400 for the restoration.
I comes with a set on input tubes but no power tubes as the ones currently installed are Tung Sol black plates from 1960 which I am keeping for another amp.
The guy I originally purchased the amp from decided to clean it up first and unfortunately wiped off the front decal. The lettering is still in place on the tube deck and the back plate. A replacement front decal can be purchased online for around $40. The transformers have some paint worn off and can be repainted with automotive paint.
