We guarantee the authenticity of this beautiful and very old bronze sundial. It features a hand engraved dial with lovely motto ‘Sunny Houres’ which is just delightful! It is dated 1700 which is likely the date of manufacture- and this is the second earliest such sundial we have ever offered for sale, being 319 years old!Suitably weathered with a beautiful bronze patina, Almost certainly English manufacture, and so made for the Northern Hemisphere. It is a superior example that de...serves joining a better collection or indeed to return to active service as it was made, whereby I can assure you it has another 319 years of faithful service to give!The base plate remains flat and its diameter is 250mm (approx 10 Inches) The Gnomon is firmly affixed and original.Weight is 1.25 Kilos.
