Wonderful Meissen Porcelain Porzellan Soup Bowl or Soup Plate 1740-1750 You are bidding on a fabulous early 18th Century Antique Meissen Soup Bowl or Plate, exquisitely painted with 2 Birds (Robins?) on branches in a tree, surrounded by wonderful butterflies and bugs. There is a nicebasketweave design around the border. Early Meissen artists painted flowers and bugs to hide the flaws in the glaze in the porcelain.
Condition: No chips, cracks or repairs. Th...e bowl is in great condition and displays superbly. The paint on one of the birds has minor scratches.There are some original manufacturing grind marks on the bottom side of the plate.
Measurements: The bowl is 9 inches in diameter. Marks: Marked with underglaze blue crossed swords mark from around 1740-1750 and other impressed marks. If you have anyquestions, please email us.
