Here is a graceful settee in the Hepplewhite style with characteristic features of the carved shield backs and the front square tapered legs.Carvings are full of Robert Adam style of draperies and urns. And, each back ends with carved bellflowers in quarter fan inlays.The arms are gently curved with carved rosettes at the end of each.The serpentine front is simple and gently curved....The silk upholstered seat is solid and comfortable. Under the seat is one solid wide plank of pine at 17" wide which dates it to the 19th century.
It was a fairly rare style of seat in America.

The seat is 36" long and 16" deep.
