Fender telecaster vintage 1972 Relic-ed the authentic way! The stories these nicks and wearmarks could tell! This tele just has thesweet feel and sound of a vintage classic. It is not strictly original. It appears that the back of the neck hasbeen refinished, but the body and headstock finish appear original; Electro socket jack plate replaced theoriginal; pickups had been changed to overwounds; active boost was squeezed into thecontrol cavity....The tuners were changed out for Valley Arts. I changed everything back except the tuners and the jack plate. The truss rod works, and the current setup has about .008” relief, and 5/64” at the 12th fret. My luthier installed Fender pickups that came from my 1999 American Standard Fender B-bender tele. We also dumped theboost device, hence the screw in between the control pots, to fill the holewhere the boost switch was. Frets were worn, so we installed jumbo frets whichmake for great bending. This is easilythe best sounding tele in my arsenal. Thepickups sound even better than a set of Don Mare’s I put into my 1999 AmericanStandard B-bender. Comes in vintage 70s Fender hardshell case. BTW, from what I’ve read, J Torres stamped necks are highlyregarded. This tele is the real deal, not a relic’d reissue. One nice thing is with its relic condition, you don't have to worry about taking it out on a gig. Although I only used it in my studio.
