For those that don't know, Anselmo Bellosio was a pupil of Santo Seraphine. This outstanding Italian 4/4 violin (back measures 14 inches) has to be the best deal I have offered on Ebay in years. The violin bears a label: Anselmus Bellosius fecet Venetiis, 1760. The label looks that old and looks like the real deal. This violin has no papers so...that being said, It is my best guess that the violin could be by that master but IS Italian and from that period. It has a grafted neck making ...it made before 1800. It sounds almost as good as my Lorenzo Guadagnini and better than some Strads I have played on.This violin has no real problems except a few well repaired cracks on the table (top) and back, not on the sound-post or bass-bar. These cracks are all holding well. There are the usual scuffs and scrapes to the varnish one would expect from a violin this age. The sound is warmly LUSH and BUTTERY. This is a true SOLO INSTRUMENT worthy of an accomplished PRO or talented student. The violin has excellent construction. The wood is lovely medium grain spruce on the table (top) and choice flamed maple on the ribs, back, neck. Violin shops in the USA might retail this violin for more than $15,000. in it's current condition. I have appraised violins for State Farm for over 45 years and this violin is really worth $15,000. NOW YOU CAN OWN IT FOR MUCH LESS!!! I buy low and sell low to leave some meat on the bone for other dealers. The violin is sold as is and as pictured. It will be shipped FOR FREE WITH CASE securely by USPS PRIORITY MAIL. What you see is what you get. Be sure before you bid and ask questions. If you win the auction, and are out of the USA, the shipping charge is $100. more than the purchase price.
