ANTIQUE SILVER BELT
I bought this silver belt b...ack in the 1980s in an antique shop in Varanasi, India, the holy city on the banks of the River Ganges. The webbed belt is incredibly finely woven, & I think made from coin silver, with butterfly medallions. The lovely thing is there is a leafy design, pressed into the webbed belt which barely shows on the photos. I think this was made in the early 20thc, & it is 27" long, & the belt is 1 1/2" wide.
