This is a gorgeous circa 1940’s Ganscraft Chimayo Native American Blanket Coat. It is made of wool in a rich blue with bold colorful stripes and a tribal design. It is in very nice used, vintage condition. There are some very minor areas of fraying, specifically under the right arm, back of collar, right lapel and the base of the bottom front by the stripes. All are shown and could be repaired by a skilled hand. There is no moth damage that I can see. Only the upper portion is lined ...and not the sleeves. The lining and a good portion of the tag are shredded. The fabric remains strong an sturdy with minor fading. It has been stored away for decades and decades and could stand to be dry cleaned. It does not have any odor and is from a smoke free home. It looks to be a relatively small size. The measurements are as follows: underarm seam to cuff is 16 “shoulder seam to hem in front is 38”top of collar to hem in back is 39”shoulder seam to shoulder seam in the back is 13.25”underarm seam to underarm seam in the back is 18” It’s a fabulous and rare find!
