Vintage Weber Kettle 22. 5 " Charcoal Grill Wood Dale IL - Late 1950’s

For sale is a 1957-59 Wood Dale Weber. It was my typical recreational use grill for a few years until I realized the history of it. For the past couple years it sat unused.
In the past, someone must have painted the base with a copper like primer and touched up some spots near the handle on the lid. Good news is that it must’ve prevented any rust, bad news is there are weird colored spots- hopefully easily restored by a knowledgeable collector. There’s no ash collecting pan. Bo...th the coal grate and the cooking are solid but a little rusty. All the vents are in good working order. The base has a few dings and some surface rust, but is holding up well.
This kettle has potential to really shine and I hope someone will give her the love she deserves! Message me for any other questions. I’m willing to drive 60miles outside of Chicago to meet for local pickup. No shipping because I don’t want to deal with disassembling at all. Happy bidding and happy grilling!
