This lovely vintage "Moore & Wright (Sheffield) Ltd" engineers tool chest consists of 8 drawers, 3 long and 5 short.The cabinet carcass is made from stained oak and is finger jointed with reinforced metal corners. Over the years the wood has taken on a super depth of colour and patina, as the cabinet was not designed to be a "fine" piece of furniture, but was practical and meant to be used, there are minor marks and scratches to the cabinet and its' drawers, as you can see from the pi...ctures.All the drawers slide in and out fine and are sound with no splits or cracks and all have their handles. The drawers are lined with green baize.The front door fits correctly and it slides in to the bottom as it should, however. Unfortunately the keys don't appear to work in the lock. The leather handle ihas some surface cracking but is well attached and sturdy.The original name transfer to the door is present as is the transfer to the large drawer, the one to the door has retained a good colour, the one on the door has faded.All in all, this cabinet is in good usable condition and it certainly has very many years of service left to give.It measures 51 cm (20 inches) wide, 22 cm (8 3/4 inches) deep and stands 34 cm (13 1/2 inches) tall.
