Good afternoon folks..Today I am very pleased to be able to offer for sale to anvil collectors and smiths this 155 Lb Very Rare blacksmith anvil, anvil is stamped on the side CORSAN, DENTON, BURDEKIN & Co. SHEFFIELD, and the stamp is still fairly legible and with the British stone weight numbers of 1-1-15 on the opposite side which coalates to 155 lbs The front foot has 3 distinct XXX on it (see pics)..Richard Postman in his book Anvils in America states that he has recorded ...only 2 of these anvils in all of his time researching makers. I think one would be very hard pressed to find another one of these like this one ever. It's that rare. More info on these can be found in Anvils in America on page 78. This anvil is in very good condition with a flat face and some rounded edges and a nick or two. (please check out my pictures as I consider them part of my description) The anvil has a great ring and about a 90% rebound. also has a prichel hole in the table, that I believe to be original to it. Specs are as follows...Overall length is 23" The face is 14 1/4" by 4" The height is 11" The hardy hole is 1" The prichel is 1/2" The table prichel is 7/8th" and The footprint is 9 1/2" by 11" Anvil retains old red paint in spots, can be removed easily, leave that decision up to its new owner....Shipping will be by Fastenal Freight and it is reasonable continental US only...Others will be conventional freight hauler..HONEST, OLD, AND FRESH TO THE MARKET
