This auction is for a vintage late post WWII 1940's KODAK Medalist II rangefinder camera. I am going to describe the condition as best as I can, but keep in mind this is a vintage item. This camera has not been tested with film nor has it been serviced. It was used and it comes from an estate. Please look over the photos provided for condition. The focusing collar moves smoothly and focusing scale on top moves. I am not a camera sp...ecialist but I try to provide as clear of description as possible. I do have an appreciation for old film cameras so I like to help cameras find new homes that will appreciate them. The shutter works at each speed setting and seems to work at the appropriate speed for each setting after cocking the shutter lever. The shutter lever seems a little stiff but does work. The aperture works as the blades do move for each setting. The exterior has wear. The camera back will open up from both sides at the same time and can open from either hinge latch. That being said, one hinge latch is missing the bar that connects one each of both rods, yet it does function. The black leatherette has some shrinkage and some bumps. There are some small sections that are missing such as around the Shutter Release button. There is wear of the finish on the Winding and Shutter Cocking knob. There is some wear on the finish on the Film Type Indicator. The View Finder lens is clear but the split field Range Finder is dirty. I might be fungus, but it has some dark spots and some black squiggly lines. There is wear on the finish of the Supermatic Shutter setting indicator ring of the lens. The lens optic appears clear. It comes with a black plastic "leatherette" style lens cover. It is a cool camera and it was built like a 1948 Buick, solid.
This camera is being offered 'as is' so please ask questions and for additional photos upon request.
