SUPER RARE Pair of WWII German Death Cards, 1 VERY LARGE, STAMPED, ADDRESSED, & MAILED !!!DESCRIPTION: Very rare, original pair of original WWII German death cards for the same soldier. I DON"T THINK YOU WILL EVER SEE ANOTHER ONE LIKE THIS AVAILABLE. The larger of the 2 cards is edged in black and the card itself folds into an envelope for mailing. AND THIS NOTICE HAS BEEN HAND ADDRESSED IN INK TO A FRIEND OR RELATIVE....."The Family Hafslingen.....". Stamped, postmarked,... and mailed.The large, addressed card measures 8 3/4" x 6 1/2" and is printed with the soldier's information: "My loving husband and father, Lance cpl Ferdinand Fromme, holder of the wound badge and the infantry assault badge, who was killed in action on Jan. 18, 1944, aged 36, in fighting on the Eastern Front ". Has information about the children, his wife, and the family's address/residence. Also mentions that a service will be held on Feb. 28, 1944 at 8am in the Bochum Hordel church. No picture, but THIS CARD HAS EVERYTHING ELSE!The second card goes with the first and measures 3 1/2" x 5" and is a formal thank you note from the wife & children of Lance cpl. Ferdinand Fromme.I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANOTHER ADDRESSED/MAILED CARD BEFORE IN 20 YEARS OF COLLECTING, AND I BELIEVE YOU WILL NEVER SEE ANOTHER ONE OFFERED. This is a must have for any serious collector of WW2 death cards.Extremely nice card. Very good condition overall. Flap is slightly split at the seam from opening.Original card, 75 years old. A nice, complete story to a soldier and young family who otherwise would be forgotten statistics. No additional postage with multiple purchases. Items are sold ONLY as historical artifacts and I respect the bans of such items in France, Austria, or any other countries where bids cannot be accepted.
