ITEM DESCRIPTIONAn unusual antique 18thC English porcelain basket.Dating to c. 1755.Finely made and painted with flowers and insects including a lovely caterpillar.Measures just over 7 inches/18cm wide at the rim.No marks, looks like Chelsea to my eyes but may also be another maker.At some point it probably had a thin handle but one end of where it should meet the body is partially covered in green enamel which is original to manufacture and the other end has had ...a small flower cemented over the scar so I'm not overly sure whats going on there.However its clean and bright with the usual small losses to the flower encrusting.Interesting object.Don't forget this is a 10 day auction that ends on Sunday 2nd June!Please take a look at my other antiques.International buyers always very welcome!
