Colnago Profil CX vintage bicycle from 1984. 57 cm c-to-c, w 56.5cm c-to-c top tube. Campagnolo Super Record group with Mavic clinchers and new Specialized tires. 14-26 freewheel.
My understanding is the Profil CX was a limited run frame while Colnago was experimenting with crimped tubing to stiffen the frame. The tubing was Columbus SL with crimped top and down tubes. The Profil was more of a TT bike, with the shifters on top of the down tube and the cables run internally throu...gh the down tube, exiting at the bottom bracket shell. It has a unique fork with teardrop shaped fork blades and a fully sloping crown.
The frame is completely under-chromed with Cromovelato paint (red over chrome) with chromed lugs, fork and chainstays. The paint is in excellent condition, the decals are starting to peel in a couple of spots and there is some pitting on the fork. The Columbus sticker on the seat tube is mostly rubbed off. The bearings all turn smoothly and it rides great. I'm selling because this has always been a little small for me, and I found a 59cm that fits me better.
