<h3> men's collectible coffee tea cup </h3> LOVELY ANTIQUE LILY OF THE VALLEY MOUSTACHE TEA COFFEE CUP HAND PAINTED TEAL PINK WHITE No chips or cracks, has very fine over all crazing and the message has worn off (said 'A FRIENDS GIFT") as well as most of the gold trim, see pictures. Measures 3.25" tall and is 5" at it's widest point, including the handle, weighs 193 gr. Not signed, if I were to guess where it was made I would say Germany, the U.S. or the U.K! A little... history about mustache cups....The upper rim has a half moon-shaped opening to allow the passage of liquids and serves as a guard to keep moustaches dry. It is generally acknowledged to have been invented in the 1860s by British potter Harvey Adams (A Stoke-on-Trent potter operating under the name of Harvey Adams & Co. from 1872-1885, then Adams & Scrivener 1885-87, then became Hammersley until 1932).Would make a great addition to your collection!
