Handmade Pallet Wood Bench- UpCycled-Reclaimed Wood
Made with 100% real wood. I start out with used pallets- the more weathered the better! Pallet wood is usually rough-sawn with multiple nail holes etc. and made from a combination of hardwoods (mostly Oak).
I bust the pallets apart using the support pieces to make the bench frame and the slats for the top. The nails are removed and the gnarly pieces are then s...awed, ripped, cut to size, and drilled. Then sanded- just enough to remove the splinters, but not too much to remove the character of the wood. So you'll get a piece of hand-built furniture that is very smooth but retains the very interesting original saw marks, knots, gouges and brandings which make every bench unique.
I put it together reusing the salvaged spiral nails and traditional furniture making techniques with hidden pocket screws and extra thick legs to make a nice, heavy-duty, solid bench. It's stained a beautiful dark walnut color- and finished with multiple coats of hand-rubbed Danish Oil.
Dimensions: 60" long x 12 3/4" wide x 19" tall
Comes partially disassembled. Easy 15 minute assembly requires a cordless driver/drill and special installation bit (included).
