Offered here is a lovely wooded German 4/4 Violin from 1900 which bears a label: Ed. Heidegger Saiten Instrumentemacher und Reparateur in Lintz Anno 19 . I believe the label to be correct and this instrument the work of that master. The back measures 14 1/4 inches, a German measurement. This violin has no real problems at all meaning NO CRACKS! There are the usual scuffs and scrapes to the varnish one would expect from a violin this age. The sound is very robust for SOLO PLAYING.... You will be heard!!! The violin has excellent construction. The wood is excellent fine grain spruce on the table (top) and choice flamed maple on the ribs, back, neck. There is evidence of fingerboard and nut re-gluing, and ok job. You might take a drummel to the nut for better left hand comfort. That is really the only issue with this fine German Master Violin. Violin shops in the USA might retail this violin for more than $2000. Look up Christopher Reutinger on Google to know your seller. I have appraised violins for State Farm for over 45 years and this violin is really worth $2000. The violin is sold as is and as pictured. The violin comes with a Glasser bow. It will be shipped in an old case securely by USPS Ground unless you need it sooner. FREE SHIPPING INCLUDED IN THE USA FOR THE START PRICE. FREE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING FOR THE BUY IT NOW PRICE.
