Rare program from the 1904Thanksgiving day game played at Marshall Field in Chicago. 24 numbered pages plus covers. There is a great picture of the 1904Wisconsin team and individual pictures of Chicago and Wisconsin players. Also of interesting note is the first pagehas an introduction on football written by W.M Hale Thompson. He was very active in football at the turn ofthe century in Chicago but his fame would be one day being better known as BigBill Thompson ...– the mayor of Chicago from 1915 to 1923 and more famously from1927 to 1931 during the reign of Al Capone. Folded and tucked inside the back cover was a newspaper clipping fromthe next day showing the offensive drives of the game with a period inknotation on it.Overall near excondition. Spine is fully intact with nosplitting except for a tiny one quarter of an inch separation at the bottom ofthe spine that only impacts cover, not interior pages. No loose or missing pages. A few minor wrinkles on the front and back covers and lightwear. Pages show light wear at cornersand a few in the front show minor creasing on corners, edge wear but overall pretty clean. No major creases, tears or chipping. The last few pages have a pen point ink spoton the edge of the page. See scans. Very minor but mentioned strictly for accuracy. Still great condition for age and fragilenature. Pre-1910 football programs of future Big Ten midwest schools are tough to find.Please email any questions orfor additional or close-up pictures.
