What we have here is a truly gorgeous, high-grade example of the most important and valuable rookie card from the 1968 Topps set and arguably the entire decade. The offered #177 Mets rookie stars card features Nolan Ryan, one of the most dominate pitchers in the history of the game. Without ever really playing on a truly great team throughout his 27 year career, Ryan still won an astounding 324 games with a record 5,714 strikeouts. The stat we love most about Ryan is that he threw seven no-hitters throughout his incredible four decades of play. This card is incredibly difficult to locate in PSA 9 due to its condition sensitive faux-wood border and typical print defects. In fact, out of the over 10,000 examples submitted to PSA only sixty-two have earned the illustrious assessment. The offered masterpiece redefines what's possible for the issue and sets the tone for what an exceptional Ryan RC can truly offer! We absolutely love this card as it's easily the best copy we've seen in our long tenure; and we've seen many of the PSA 9s that exist. The card boasts GEM MINT attributes with virtually 50-50 centering and pristine edges around. The card's print is undeniably perfect with zero in excess (and that includes the ultra tough purple Mets circle). Microscopic touches to the extreme upper two corners is perhaps all that prevents this from the PSA 10 GEM MINT assessment. All in all, this is truly a fine-art equivalent investment piece with a demand which far exceeds supply. Comes with our highest recommendation. Mark your calendar as this card closes on the evening of 8/14/2019. Enjoy! One of over 13,000 cards, lots, and sets up for bid in our 8th Auction of 2019. Feb, 2018 Top 5% Eye appeal greatly affects market value. Since 2015 we at PWCC have designated cards in the top 30% of the market with our Certified Eye Appeal Program. These cards have statistically sold at auction for 130%-200%+ of market average, depending on the eye appeal assessment rendered. The premium paid for cards in the top 30% of the eye appeal scale reveals an investment trend largely in its infancy. As a key investment variable, the eye appeal of a vintage trading card seems destined to have an increasingly significant impact on market value for the foreseeable future. Investors are encouraged to take notice of this important variable and invest accordingly. Any buyer who does not pay for an item will be permanently blocked from bidding with PWCC and reported to eBay. Payment Options In addition to paying direct through eBay, PWCC is proud to offer several additional options to enable easier payment for auction winnings including short-term, zero interest payment plans, long-term, very low interest payment plans, and the option to consign-in-lieu of payment. Please contact PWCC with any questions about these payment options. PWCC Return Policy Our return policy is not a no-questions-asked return policy. Returns are only accepted if an item is misrepresented in the auction title, description, images, email, or phone communication. Buyer's remorse is not a valid reason for return. We strive to be reasonable in the event of a disagreement and ask that buyers afford us the same level of fairness. Misrepresentation of an auction item is exceedingly rare. We at PWCC are not professional graders so we trust in the reputation and opinion of 3rd party professional graders. Professional grading is subjective and different 3rd party graders will often disagree over the grading on a single card. Such a disagreement is not a justifiable reason for a return with PWCC. As a broker of graded trading cards, our responsibility is the accurate description and delivery of the item advertised; not to guarantee how a graded card will be assessed by different grading company. Any issue a buyer has with a card's professional grade should be addressed with the company that graded the card. Returned items must be received back in the condition they were received. Original shipping as well as return shipping will be refunded along with the full purchase price upon receiving back a returned item. Auction Integrity Safeguarding the integrity of bidding on our auctions is our highest priority. For the trading card marketplace to function effectively, the honesty and integrity of the participants must be ensured. Collectors deserve a bidding environment that is 100% legitimate and free from manipulation by the auction house, consignors, friends of consignors, friends of the auction house, or anyone else who seeks to exert artificial influence on the sale price. Bid Monitoring PWCC proactively monitors the behavior of bidders. We reserve the right to contact bidders who place bids outside the guidelines outlined below, and in some cases, we will choose to cancel bids and block bidders from participating in our auctions. All bid retractions and cancellations that violate eBay’s policy are reported daily to eBay. eBay reserves the right to enforce its policies. Any username with recurrent bid retractions across the eBay platform will be blocked from participating in further PWCC auctions. "String bidding", or placing a series of sequential bids at the minimum bid increment, can be perceived as bid manipulation because the practice allows a bidder to expose the maximum bid of another bidder without becoming the high bidder himself or herself. Any instances of string bidding will be flagged by our team. In cases of clear manipulation, string bids will be cancelled and offenders will be blocked. We ask that the bidding community assist us in identifying concerning bid behavior on any of our auctions. Please notify PWCC of any suspicious behavior by sending an email to our bid monitoring team. Contact information can be found on our website under the “Buyers” tab. Thank you for helping us ensure the integrity of the marketplace.
