Up for auction is my ONE OWNER 1986 Skyway Street Beat freestyle BMX bike. Yep, I am the ORIGINAL OWNER of this bike! This was my dream bike in 1986. I custom ordered this bike from my local bike shop, and waited months for it to arrive. I save up all of my birthday money, lawn mowing money, etc. And when it arrived, it was the coolest thing I had ever seen in my life...even better than t...he magazine ads!
Eventually, I stopped riding it, and it stayed tucked away in my parents garage. Now, 33 years later, my parents are moving and I have no place to store my middle school pride and joy. My loss can be your gain!
This bike is a SURVIVOR - it has not been repaired, restored, or anything like that. It is exactly the way it was on the day I bought it with the exception of the Odyssey rotor. By the way, the rotor still says "patent pending" on it, so it must be a really early one?
The bike has some wear, some chips, some scratches, etc., but look at the photos close - it is in REALLY nice shape for a 33 year old freestyle bike.
The tires are dry rotted and will need to be replaced, but the tubes hold air. The left grip is starting to melt. Grips will need to be replaced too.
I have no idea what this bike is worth, so I am offering it for sale with NO RESERVE with a starting bid of $0.99!!!
The buyer agrees to pay actual shipping charges, or we can meet locally if you want to pick it up in person. I can meet in Northeast Philadelphia where I work (zip code 19136) or near my home in Central NJ (zip code 08848).
If the shipping estimate seems too high, contact me. I have found that sometimes ebay overestimates shipping charges. I promise to only charge actual shipping costs, and will refund any overage if eBay charges too much.
There are no warranties or guarantees on this bike. I have not ridden it since the early 1990s. Please ask all questions prior to bidding. I will be happy to provide additional photos if you request something more specific.
Good luck and happy bidding!
