This gently used 1927 Dunhill Unique Swiss glass lighter was the crown jewel of an extensive east coast lighter collection. The Swiss poured glass over sterling silver is absolutely correct and visually stunning! The black and purple glass is in excellent condition, with no breaks or cracks anywhere on its surface and only shows minor pocket scuffing around.The gloss is not a spray or clearcoat of any kind, but the surface of the glass and shows how well this lighter was cared for. The... air bubbles in the glass are what makes this lighter an unmistakable original to our trained eye. The sterling silver shows only light pocket wear, with no major trauma and only minor dimples around its edges. The lift arm and single flint wheel, function as they should and are strong with no loose parts at all. The "star stamped" flint fill screw and arm spring screw, are another sign of this lighter's authenticity and never duplicated. The art deco visual step design and its coloration has rarely been seen and I was told it was an original Alfred Dunhill design. Hardship has led us to pass this investment on to one of you. This lighter was found 40 yrs ago in a sock and has remained there since in a smoke free home. The lighter was gently cleaned with a silver foam, and has come back to stun us all.
