UPDATE: Well this package just got more interesting... even though my battery was dead, I was wondering how someone would recharge the batteries since there wasn't a cord in this package. So I went looking in a box of old Apple cords that I keep and FOUND the charger cord!!! Which brings us to the next question... does this Newton still work even if I don't have a battery for it? So I plugged it in and Voila! It works fine... I even played a couple of games of Battleship on... it! I have included a picture with backlight both off and on.
I will continue to honor the $195 Buy it Now price that I originally put on this package... until Christmas. But since there have been no offers to date I am pulling the Make An Offer part. After Christmas I will install a battery of my own and sell the whole package for full value (which is a LOT more than I am asking now).
ORIGINAL: I bought this Newton (2000/2100) with all of the accessories about 20 years ago, played around with it a little bit, and then forgot about it before ever putting it to good use.
The battery went bad and had to be pried out (it is still in its case in the ziploc bag you see in the pictures) but I was able to do that without much problem and clean the contacts inside. For all I know the Newton still works, but replacement batteries are hard to come by and I have no need for this Newton at this point in my life (or to fiddle around with it any further) so I will sell everything As-Is.
REVISED: I will list it at $195 plus shipping.
