Original Description:
This was my childhood PC, an IBM 386.   Machine is in need of repair or troubleshooting- the computer will power up fine, but rarely outputs to monitor.  Eventually I get it to work if I keep restarting the machine.   Computer gives "161" and "163" errors.  I think that means the internal battery is dead.  This doesn't stop the computer from running, though- I was still able to enter DOS and Windows 3.1, so the CPU definitely still works.  Mouse and K...eyboard inputs still work, as does the sound blaster, internal speakers, and internal cables.  I don't know why the computer doesn't always output to monitor- but once it starts working, it appears to keep working until you unplug everything again.  The floppy disk drive might not work- it will still light up and try to read disks, but every time I get a "wrong format" error, and the computer fails to write or format every disk I've tried so far.  Could be a dirty head or something, or maybe the drive is just broken.   Power button "cap" is detached- easy fix with some glue or putty.
And please note:  NO HARD DRIVE INCLUDED!!  Naturally, this means no software either.  I only include screenshots of the computer running windows/Dos to show you that the computer can still run despite the trouble mentioned above.
Despite it's current state, it's still a great piece of computer nostalgia, or a fun retro machine for really old programs (best for pre-1993 software).
Free shipping, but local pickup would make my life much easier!!! :-D  I'm in Massachusetts.
Below are the stats for the machine from an old brochure:
